Activity center for the elderly

The activity centers are an offer for those of you who live in Sønderborg Municipality and who want help to maintain physical and mental health and join meaningful communities. We offer you activities and a little extra content in your everyday life.   

We have a total of ten activity centers distributed around Sønderborg Municipality's care centres.  

Transport:
You must be able to transport yourself to and from the activity centre. If you have problems with transport, we will be happy to help you find a solution. 

Meals:
In most places, it is possible to buy food at the activity center or bring your own packed lunch.  

Who can I meet in the activity centre?  

Our activity centers are for you, who are citizens of the local area and for our residents at the care centres. You will therefore very naturally meet different people in our activity centres.   

You will also meet our employees in the activity centers and our indispensable volunteers.  

What activities are there at the municipality's activity centres?  

We have many different activities and switch between activities within four areas:   

• That you keep your body moving  
• That you keep your head moving  
• That you get your senses stimulated 
• That you get social interaction  

Examples of activities are movement, exercise, play groups such as could be pétanque or cards, outdoor activities, dancing, tinkering, seasonal activities, as well as cooking, making schnapps, etc.    

Our activities are of course dependent on wind and weather, as well as how many volunteers can help us. Each activity center has a calendar where you can see the upcoming activities.  

There may be some activities that you have to pay for.

If you wish to participate in a special activity, you can contact the activity center you wish to be a part of.
