- What can I ask about at Klinik UngeLiv?
-
At Klinik UngeLiv you can anonymously talk to health professionals about everything related to your sexuality, gender, identity, body, sex life, etc.ex-diseases, pregnancy, abortion, contraception, abuse, boundaries, consent, digital violations, porn, fantasies and much more.
We create a safe and respectful space where you can get the right support for your sexual health and well-being.
With us, no question or problem is too small or too big – and there are no shameful or embarrassing topics. We listen and help you with everything from medical and physical issues to social and psychological challenges. Through professional dialogue, you get the guidance you need, so you can make the decisions that feel right for you.
- Who will I talk to?
-
At Klinik UngeLiv you will meet healthcare professionals, including nurses, health visitors and a sexologist. There are also doctors from Sygehus Sønderjylland affiliated with the clinic.
Here you can bring up challenges, doubts or questions that are bothering you and that may be too sensitive to share with your parents or your own doctor. Everyone in the clinic is bound by confidentiality.
- Can I get free contraception?
-
At the clinic you can be anonymous and discreet. We take good care of you and the confidential information you give us.
We have plenty of time to talk about your options. Through guidance and a thorough presentation of the different types of contraception, we will find out together what is the right choice for you.
Contraception methods, What we can offer in the clinic is:
- Condoms
- Birth control pills (first pack)
- P-rod
- Hormonal IUD
If you want birth control pills, a contraceptive rod or a hormonal coil, you must book an appointment, and we will need your CPR number, as we are subject to Danish legislation, which dictates that all medication must be registered with the person receiving it. Your own doctor will not be notified that you have started taking birth control pills, for example. However, your own doctor will be able to see it in your medication information when/if the doctor looks it up in the system in another context.
If this is your first time taking birth control, we encourage you to tell your parents so they can help you if you experience side effects. If you experience side effects from birth control, you should contact your doctor so that you can get help quickly.
If you are under 15 years of age and want hormonal contraception, according to Danish law we must have consent from your parents before we can help you with it in the clinic. You are also very welcome to bring them to the clinic.
- Can I be tested at the clinic?
-
At Klinik UngeLiv you can be tested for both sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy if you have had unprotected sex or the condom broke.
IMPORTANT: you must not have urinated for about two hours before you are tested!!!
Pregnancy test
Here at the clinic, we can safely and quickly give you certainty – you just need to do a urine test, which we can read immediately afterwards.
Regardless of the answer to the test, at UngeLiv you will always be guided based on your needs and wishes.
Test for sexually transmitted diseases
It is neither difficult nor painful to get tested – it is done, regardless of gender, by means of a urine test, and does not take many minutes. If treatment is needed, we will also help you get started with this. In the vast majority of cases, it will be a course of antibiotics, which you can pick up at the pharmacy.
If you want to be tested, you can come to our drop-in time on Thursdays between 13-15 pm.
- Do I need a referral?
-
You do not need a referral to get counseling, contraception, or testing with us – neither your parents nor your general practitioner need to know that you have an appointment or have been here.
However, if you are under 15 years of age, we must have consent from a parent or guardian for both testing and contraception.
