Building 10 at Agervang 4, 6400 Sønderborg
Building 10 was probably built a few years after 1936 when its former twin building, which was demolished in 2016, was built.
The original hospital complex was built under German rule as "Marine-Lazarett Sonderburg" and was associated with the German Marine Artillery School, which was inaugurated in 1907. Building 10 was built a few years later, but forms part of the original buildings of the hospital complex and together with the The former twin building emphasizes the prominent axis that runs along Sydvang.
Building 10 is built in neoclassical and functionalist style. The facade is strict and steady with long, original windows. The building has a fully molded red wing tile roof with dormers placed above the facade windows. The facades are plastered in a shade of red. It appears mainly original, but was built in 1969 with an extension and windscreen in a newer style, where the windows have been blinded behind. The building appears to be in good condition on the outside, but the windows and dormers need restoration.
Building 14 at Agervang 6, 6400 Sønderborg
According to BBR, building 14 was built in 1936 and is today used as a chapel. It is also part of the overall cultural environment with the original hospital buildings, hospital accommodation and the Sønderborg barracks.
Building 14 is built in neoclassical and modernist style. The building has a red hipped tiled roof. The northern facade has a centrally located window with two pilasters on each side and a main door to the east. The other facades have been combined with a newer extension, which has meant that the windows have been blinded, so that the original basic shape has been changed. In addition to this, the building appears mostly original and in good condition.
The background for the application for the demolition of the above buildings is that Sønderborg Hospital does not need the buildings for future operations. They therefore want the buildings demolished and will leave the area as a lawn.
Any comments on the demolition notices must be submitted to Sønderborg Municipality most recently the 8. September 2024 of by-landskab@sonderborg.dk or Sønderborg Municipality, City and Landscape, Lille Rådhusgade 7, 6400 Sønderborg.
