Flag days
Flags are flown at the town hall in Sønderborg. At the municipality's schools, institutions and nursing homes as well as other buildings where there is currently a flagpole, flagging is encouraged on flag days.
The flag will be hoisted on the following days in 2025:

- Danish flag times

- Never raise the flag before 8.00 am and hold it down at sunset at the latest.
- On days when the sun rises after 8.00 am the flag must first be raised at sunrise.
- The flag must never be hoisted after sunset.
- The flag must be lowered well before sunset if it is most convenient.
