The bike provides the best conditions to get there and it rarely fails. You can experience nature, the city and everything in between on your bike rides. Whether you ride quietly on your city bike through the city, whether you fly out there on a racing bike or take your mountain bike through the forest, the bike is the greenest and healthiest mode of transport.

Southern Denmark's most cycling municipality

In Sønderborg Municipality, we have a vision to become Southern Denmark's most cycling municipality by 2028. Therefore, we do our part to get as many people as possible to use cycling. We must have made the bicycle the preferred means of transport - whether it is for short or long trips. That way we can fulfill our vision. So take the bike when you go to the gym, out shopping or pick up the kids.

Bicycle campaigns

In Sønderborg Municipality, we work purposefully to spread cycling and regularly run various cycling campaigns:

• Give your child permission
  Bicycle campaign from 2.-16. May 2022 targeted students in 0th to 6th grade. During the campaign period, students receive a stamp when they arrive by bicycle, and students with a minimum of 5 stamps receive a small gift. The school with the most cycling days wins a joint prize.
   
• All Children Bikes
  The campaign is aimed at students in 0th-10th grade.
   
•  WE CYCLE TO WORK
  WE CYCLE TO WORK rides every year throughout May, where cycling joy is spread in workplaces, home offices and cycle paths throughout Denmark.

• We can cycle!
  In the kindergarten campaign We can cycle! children play to be safe on the bike. The campaign will run next time on 1-31. May 2022.
