Support for voluntary social care work for pensioners

Voluntary social associations and organizations in Sønderborg Municipality with activities for pensioners can apply for grants (§6 funds).

The voluntary effort or activity supported must aim to increase the well-being, welfare and care of pensioners. These may include activities that promote social interaction, provide support or assistance to vulnerable elderly people, promote a healthy lifestyle or include other relevant activities. care measures. The purpose is to give older citizens the opportunity to get out of the home a little and participate in a positive community, which can help reduce loneliness and strengthen their mental health.

What can funds be applied for?

The target group for the voluntary social care work is senior citizens aged 60 and over in the municipality, including associations, senior and elderly clubs based in Sønderborg Municipality, whose activities are aimed at seniors - citizens who feel lonely can be particularly highlighted here.

Grants can be applied for for:

  • Social offers such as excursions, communal dining and cooking
  • Exercise options such as gymnastics, swimming, Nordic walking, dancing, hiking, etc.
  • Information and development such as lectures, courses, study groups, drama and choir
  • Entertainment such as singing, music, theater, revue, card games, banco, etc.
Can I apply verbally as an association?

The opportunity to present an oral application for support is particularly aimed at applicants who experience challenges in completing a written application, for example due to dyslexia, visual impairment or other challenges that make it difficult to complete the application without help.

The application is presented at a meeting with the municipality's volunteer consultant.

Applicants wishing to attend a presentation meeting must contact the volunteer consultant no later than 14 days before the application deadline for the current round - i.e. no later than mid-November for round 1 and mid-May for round 2.

At the presentation meeting, the applicant must bring or be able to provide information about:

  • A description of the activities or services that the association's volunteers carry out and are applying for support for
  • The association's CVR number
  • Contact information for the President, Vice President and Treasurer
  • Most recently approved accounts
  • Most recently approved articles of association

The volunteer consultant will then help you fill out the application form based on this information.

Once the association has approved the completed application, the volunteer consultant submits the application on behalf of the association.

When will we receive a response to our application?

Responses to the application can be expected in mid-February and mid-August. Allocated funds can be expected to be transferred to the association's NemKonto at the end of February and August.
