Transport to doctor and specialist
As a starting point, you must arrange transport in connection with treatment by a general practitioner or specialist. In certain cases, you may be granted transport or reimbursement for transport, also called carriage / carriage allowance. The transport must always be done with the cheapest, safe means of transport.
If you have already been searched for transport, the transport must be ordered on a special number at Sydtrafik, tel.: +45 88 72 44 72. Remember to inform:
- social security number, name and address
- which doctor / specialist you should be taken to
- date and time and duration of appointment with the doctor
- whether to bring a companion or welfare technologies
- Can I get transport to the doctor as a public and early pensioner?
-
Transport for pensioners can only be granted if there are health reasons why you cannot use public transport to your own doctor or the nearest specialist.
Use Flex tour or apply for inspected transport via the link at the top of the page. If you use Flextur for a doctor's visit, you can apply to have the expenses reimbursed. Read more about documentation for this under 'Which documentation should I send when I apply for transport allowance?'.
Only travel allowance is granted to the nearest specialist. If a specialist is chosen further away, reimbursement is still only made to the nearest specialist. The treatment at the specialist must be done at the expense of the Region.
The transport allowance for public and early pensioners is only granted when the cost to and from the treatment center exceeds DKK 48. in total with the cheapest reliable means of transport.
- Can I get transport to the doctor if I am not a pensioner?
-
Only travel allowance is granted to the nearest specialist. If a specialist is chosen further away, reimbursement is still only made to the nearest specialist. The treatment at the specialist must be done at the expense of the Region.
The transport allowance is only granted when the cost to and from the treatment center exceeds DKK 113 in total. There must be more than 50 kilometers from your own place of residence or residence to the specialist doctor.
- Can I get a ride to the emergency room?
-
Pensioners who cannot get to the doctor's office themselves can order a regular taxi and have the cost reimbursed. Remember to get a receipt for the taxi and a stamp from the on-call doctor. The receipt must be sent to Technology and Aids, Visited Transport.
- What documentation do I need to send when applying for a travel allowance?
-
If you want to apply for a travel allowance, you must submit documentation for a doctor's visit.
When refunding for flextur, you must submit a voucher with cpr.nr. as well as the doctor's stamp and signature.
Both parts must be sent to Technology and Aids, Visited Transport, see contact information at the bottom of the page.
- What is the case processing time and where can I find quality standards?
-
The case processing time is 2 weeks from receipt of request for transportation allowance.
- Where can I complain?
-
If you want to complain about decisions regarding transport allowance or searched transport or if you have questions, you can read more on Region South Denmark's website.
You are welcome to call Technology and Aids, Visited Transport to get the decision in more detail.
