Parental involvement, well-being assessments and supervision of daycare services

In Sønderborg Municipality, you as a parent are involved in the cooperation around your child. Well-being assessments and supervision of municipal and private day care services are carried out.

In Sønderborg Municipality, you as a parent are involved in relation to your child's development and well-being.

Through well-being assessments and supervision of the municipal and private day care areas, children's universes and kindergartens, the well-being and development of all children is monitored and supported.

Are well-being assessments made of my child?

All children aged 0-6 years are assessed for well-being twice a year. The focus is on health, learning and well-being, and action is taken at an early stage if a child is challenged - always in close collaboration with you as a parent.

In Sonderborg Municipality, we work according to The children's umbrella in connection with well-being.

At the same time, the educational staff in the institutions work to follow the child's development and learning in the subject system Brain and Heart and involve you as a parent in a dialogue. Typically, these are interviews at start-up, ongoing status interviews and interviews before transitioning to school.

In the day care, there is daily opportunity for dialogue at drop-off and pick-up, and dialogue is also offered as needed.

How often is there supervision of the municipal and private day care services?

Every other year, Sonderborg Municipality performs a mandatory pedagogical inspection of the municipal and private daycare areas, children's universes and kindergartens.

Where can I see inspection reports for the individual day care services?

See the audit reports and audit reports for follow-up at the bottom of the page.

Are there parents' councils at the individual institutions?

Sønderborg Municipality's day care consists of four day care areas and three children's universes. Each day care area is managed by a day care manager, and the individual institutions are managed by a day-to-day educational manager.

The institutions have either a parent-elected parent council or a parent board. The tasks of the parents' council/parents' board include setting the principles for the educational activities as well as guidelines and policies for the local institution such as birthdays, meals etc.

In addition, each daycare area has one parent board, which together with the area manager collaborates on the goals and framework of the individual institution.
